ROLEC is a medium sized company which employs 90 people.
The family-owned company was founded by Friedhelm Rose and his son Matthias in 1987. In 1998 the team was completed by his daughter Betty Rose.
In 1970 our founder, Mr Friedhelm Rose developed an ingenious concept for simple but practical enclosures made of aluminium and plastic. He established the basis of the enclosure industry, which reproduced millionfold copies of these enclosures, setting a new standard.
In 1971 Friedhelm Rose developed the first standardised
diecast aluminium enclosures for electrical and electronics
equipment with internal mounting bosses and sealing to
IP66.
These became known later as the ROLEC aluKOM
In 1987 ROLEC introduced the new aluNORM series of standard diecast enclosures with a unique fixing screws and common mounting channels for extra internal space. The enclosures
were also available in different lid/base formats aluNORM
In 1998 ROLEC introduced the conFORM series of EMC
shielded diecast aluminium enclosures. These featured
innovative in-built EMC contact ribs in the base. These
provide a high degree of RFI/EMI shielding without the
need for expensive mesh or
metal loaded gaskets. conFORM
In 2003 ROLEC introduced a completely new concept in diecast aluminium enclosures - aluCASE. This new series included many new innovations for standard diecast enclosures including a recessed lid for keypads or labels, fixing screws hidded under clip-on trims, lid retaining straps, and integrated hinges.
aluCASE
In 2008 ROLEC launched the aluCLIC series - the first
diecast enclosures designed for fast replacement. These featured a unique snap-on mounting device on the
underside which allows fast equipment changes. Simply
insert a screw driver an the enclosures snaps off. aluCLIC
At the 2010 Electronica Fair ROLEC introduced the aluPLUS
series of industry standard size diecast enclosures. These
feature the same innovations as the aluCASE series, but in
a lower cost standard enclosure format which can be used
for terminals or
other electrical and electronics equipment. aluPLUS
Also at the Electronica Fair in late 2010, ROLEC presented
the world's first round diecast aluminium enclosures for
industrial electronics and electrical equipment - aluDISC.
These also feature a keypad recess, hidden fixings under
snap-on trims and lid retainers. A separate model is also
available with a hinged transparent cover to protect the
display/controls.
